racora-base

Workload namespaces for Racora.

What this installs

NamespaceContents (other charts)
5g-corethe selected 5G core provider (racora-core-open5gs by default)
centralized-unitCU-CP, CU-UP, CU-IP (racora-cu)
distributed-unitDU pods (controller-managed)
racora-systemNRCell controller, NRCells (racora-controller)
user-equipmentsrsUE / COTS UE supporting pods
monitoringOTel Collector + ClickHouse + Tempo + Grafana (racora-monitoring)

All namespaces carry:

  • Label app.kubernetes.io/part-of: racora
  • Annotation helm.sh/resource-policy: keep (configurable via resourcePolicy value)

Install

helm install racora-base ./charts/racora-base

Values

KeyTypeDefaultDescription
namespaceslist["5g-core","centralized-unit","distributed-unit","racora-system","user-equipment","monitoring"]Namespaces created by this chart. Each entry is rendered into a Namespace resource with the standard racora label set. All six default namespaces are required for a complete Racora install. Toggling an entry off here also means the corresponding workload chart must be skipped (e.g., select global.core.provider=external in the umbrella to drop the 5g-core namespace AND the open5gs chart).
resourcePolicystring"keep"Resource policy: 'keep' makes helm uninstall NOT delete the namespaces (so workloads from other charts aren't dropped with the base chart). Set to empty string to allow deletion on uninstall — only do this for a complete tear-down.

Override the list to skip namespaces (must also disable the matching workload chart in the umbrella):

helm install racora-base ./charts/racora-base \
--set namespaces='{centralized-unit,distributed-unit,racora-system,monitoring}'

Ordering

This chart installs before:

  • racora-controller (lives in racora-system, writes to distributed-unit)
  • racora-cu (lives in centralized-unit)
  • the core provider chart (cores/<name>/chart, lives in 5g-core)
  • racora-monitoring (lives in monitoring)

This chart can install in parallel with racora-crds — neither depends on the other. No subchart declares a dependency on another: the umbrella racora chart lists all seven as its own conditional dependencies, and Helm applies the combined manifest sorted by kind (Namespaces first), which is what puts these namespaces ahead of the workloads.
